I’m not a traditional talk therapist. I mean, we do that too, but I also focus my work on body-based processes which includes mindfulness, active skill work, and the physiological perspective of body and emotions. Together we will explore self-discovery, address challenges, name feelings, call on issues, and co-create a beautiful synthesis.
Heart & Skills Psychotherapy, PLLC specializes in an array of concerns/populations such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, relationship issues, interracial couples, life transitions, trauma, chemical & process addiction(s), non-monogamy/alternative relationship structures, and folks who identify with LGBTQ/TGNCGQ, QPOC.
While my methodology and lens of practice varies with each client, I primarily practice DBT (dialectical behavior therapy), EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), Gottman Method, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Relational-Cultural Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Strengths Perspective Theory. My approach with therapy is to make our work together a caring and honest space, as you take your time to discover, explore, and reach, by meeting you where you are and going from there.
